Human Resource Department “Corporate World: A Curtain Raiser Series-4”

The HR Department of ITM Business School organized  Guest Session for Corporate World: A Curtain Raiser Series” on 5th September 2020 for the Finance  students on the topic “Ethics in Finance. ”Mr. Hemant Verma, the Assistant Vice President of State Bank of India and an esteemed alumnus of our college from the Finance Batch of 2015 appeared as our guest faculty He began his session by giving a brief about Financial Ethics and the different Finance Profiles in the industry. He then addressed the Top 5 Unethical Scams in India explaining in concise about the malpractices of Harshad Mehta, Ketan Parekh, Satyam, Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi. After this, he spoke about avoiding FEAR (Fragility, Exploitation, Avarice and Rapacity) and adopting CARE (Confidentiality, Availability, Reliability and Ethics).

Following the brief lecture on Corporate Ethics, we had an interactive session where all the students asked Mr. Verma different questions ranging from placement related advice to his  industrial experience. Mr. Hemant Verma also shed light on the benefits of taking up a job in the Marketing domain, and addressed the concerns of many students.

Overall it was a very lively and informative session and proved beneficial to all the students by shedding light on different aspects of corporate life.
