ITM Department of Human Resource "Corporate World: A Curtain Raiser-7”

On 19th September 2020, the HR Department of ITM Business School organized its seventh Guest Session of "Corporate World: A Curtain Raiser Series” for the HR students of 2019-21 and 2020-22 batch on the topic “POSH- Prevention of Sexual Harassment.”  The session was conducted by Ms. Ruchita Mathur, former HR of Ultra tech cement, Aditya Birla Group. The session started with the discussion on sensitive issues like-downgraded situation of women in organizations, suppressing talents of women at the workplace and why prevention of sexual harassment is important at the workplace. She pointed out that the culture of preventing sexual harassment started from Bhanwari Devi case in 1992, giving rise to introduction of “POSH” culture in the organizations. The litmus test needed to be done to know that whether the activities in the workplace is acceptable or is a pointer towards sexual harassment. The guest placed the incidences and cases that she had been aware of at her workplace which gave a good insight to students to have a clarity about the topic and how important it is in an organization. Later, the questions were asked by the students to which our guest answered very nicely stating proper instances and examples. It was a wonderful learning opportunity for all the students.
